This place use to be my spot! This is until a few days ago when I got food poisoning! and the time before that the food just tasted a little off. I don't know what's going on with them but they need to get it together. A few days ago I ordered the fried chicken, greens and macaroni and cheese dinner. The night I was eating on it I felt a little sick. I just thought me being pregnant and all I took too long to eat. But the next day when I ate the rest I threw it up, and kept throwing up and having stomach pains and diarrhea. And as I said earlier this was my spot but the past few times I've been they weren't tasting the same.

So, I had a taste for some soul food, and decided to check out Mid-Atlantic Seafood...how bad could it be? I got a veggie plate, with massive portions of collards, mushrooms, and mac & cheese. The only good thing was the mushrooms, which were very well seasoned and tasty. The collards didn't seem fresh, but were average for collards...I've had better, but definitely worse. The mac & cheese was horrid, and tasted like nothing more than watered down kraft mac & cheese. If it's not baked, it's not official mac & cheese, but could they at least use real cheese? SMH...I will not be spending any money here again.

Not feeling this location. I ordered a salmon dinner with cabbage and macaroni and cheese and the whole thing tasted bland... The salmon has too many peppers on top and and once again tasted bland... I usually go to the Tacoma park location, I might give this location a second try

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place. There was Christian music playing, the food smelled delicious, and the service was great. The food was delicious and I fed 6 people for just $62! My wife ordered crab cake, I had the sea trout (I had like four pieces of fish), my mom had chicken and ribs, and I also ordered side orders of Mac and cheese and desserts. I left totally satisfied and felt that it was a great place to come home to and support. You'll love this place!

Breakfast was very good, redeemed my bad experience from yesterday (Christina's Caribbean restaurant-keep away), turkey sausage egg cheese on croissant very good, home fries and egg omelette with bacon also good. would have preferred my food in plate rather than Styrofoam, friendly service. can visit again.

Seafood was good and service was good but the smell of the chitterlings overpowered the smell of the other food. Sides were not good. Not a place for a picky eater.

We were lookin for a quick bite after a trip to nat harbor fell through. Not sure what made us choose this but we are sure glad we did! The sides were amaz-balls! Collards, hushpups, yams, corn! All amazing! Split the stuffes flounder and it was more than we could eat but soo good! Brought dessert home, and it was soooo good too even though we were stuffed! Ambiance is mucho casual, but it looks like most folks get to go. And it must be a local fav cause there was a constant flow of people comin in. Definitely going back!

Is this really the first review? Wow! This place has a great seafood/ soul food buffet. I ended up getting breakfast, because that's what I was in the mood for. Ordered scrambled eggs with provolone cheese, smothered potatoes, and wheat toast. I had just flew in from California, and my mother insisted we come here for some breakfast. The smothered potatoes were bomb! I didn't even need extra salt or pepper. The eggs were perfect, and toast is toast... I was a very happy camper. Regarding the seafood/soul food buffet, there was everything from ribs, to salmon, mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, baked and bbq chicken, mac and cheese... for dessert I saw peach cobbler, and lots of pudding (chocolate and banana), also saw red velvet. I think it's worth checking out, if you want some good soul food w/o cooking all that food yourself. As I was waiting for my meal, I noticed there were a lot of people there picking up food from the buffet, so I assume the locals like it. Oh and PS, this place is huge! So if you have a big group, this place can def hold 'em.

Oh, Northern Virginia. Why don't you know how to fry a fish? You can't swing a dead catfish without hitting a sushi restaurant, but when I need some good old fashioned FRIED fish, I have to cross the river into DC or MD. I ended up here while trying to find Cameron's Seafood. Google Maps said it was located here in a mall in Oxon Hill. Except the sign said Mid-Atlantic Seafood, which rung a bell. I'm a big fan of the shop in Laurel, where you can get anything from fried seafood to soul food, so being hungry and not willing to look anymore, I hauled inside. Similar setup, albeit a little smaller but the Laurel shop is like a freaking aircraft hangar, so you can pretty much fit your church's congregation in here and still have room to stretch out. There's a raw bar (which was closed Sunday morning), a sprawling display case of sides, another for cakes and pies, and a bewildering variety of menu options. Everything from barbecue to spicy tofu to chitlins to the eponymous seafood. Plenty of seating, but the place was empty. They do the usual fried seafood options: whiting, perch, croaker, shrimp, oysters, scallops, etc. I opted for the fried whiting dinner with sides of mac n cheese and collards. The seafood is cooked to order, so no hot lamps and stale oil. You pay your money and they give you your ticket. Ten minutes later, I had three big, crispy, fried hard and proper filets of whiting. If you've had this at Horace & Dickies, this will taste familiar. A simple cornmeal crust with a little salt. If you're getting carryout, make sure to open the styrofoam so the fish doesn't steam and soggify itself. The mac n cheese was nothing special. Basically what you'd find straight out of the Kraft Blue Box. I prefer the homemade baked stuff like you'd find at Levi's. The kind with a nice layer of burnt cheese on top, but these will do. The collards, however, were excellent. Nice level of seasoning with a tart vinegar tang. Servings were generous approaching obscene. $7 bought enough for two, maybe three meals. Bonus points for having a mambo sauce pump at the self-serve counter. This version skews cocktail sauce sweet with a hint of heat, unlike most mambo sauces that taste more like a thinned out sweet & sour sauce. I left full and satisfied, bound for Virginia where people don't know (or care) how to fry a fish. On the way out, I spotted Cameron's Seafood, but they'll have to wait for another day. So if you want to chow down on some fried seafood or soul food on the cheap, come here. These guys know what they're doing.

Love this place. I have been a few times and the food is always fresh and they have a great selection. Almost always get the stuffed shrimp.
